I came across a very interesting fact about Bulgarian folk music.

I always have had a big interest in space and the cosmos from a very young age and loved the images of the planets from the Voyager space missions in the 70'ies. On board the Voyager spacecrafts they included a golden record which contained sounds from earth. It was made of gold because of the durability - it can last forever - and the analogue record could be played with the right tools. The idea is that if an alien civilization in the next million years or more salvage the spacecraft, they are able to see and hear about our maybe long forgotten human civilization.

So one of the songs is Izlel ye Delyo Haydutin (Излел е Дельо хайдутин). From Wikipedia:

"Izlel ye Delyo Haydutin" ('Delyo has become a hajduk') is a Bulgarian folk song from the central Rhodope Mountains about Delyo, a rebel leader who was active in the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries.

It is performed by the Bulgarian folk singer Valya Mladenova Balkanska (Валя Младенова Балканска).

It is a very beautiful but special piece of music that actually gives you goosebumps if you allow yourself to take it in. And a very interesting choice of music to immortalize and represent as a song for the human race.

Bulgarian folk music will last until the end of the universe.

The golden plates and record on board both Voyager spacecrafts.
